University Park Sports Soccer is youth recreational soccer program that serves children in soccer programs U6-U18. We offer coed and all-girls teams in the following divisions: U8, U10, and U12, and offer coed teams in U6, U14 and U18 divisions. We welcome all children of age regardless of experience, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or immigration status.
Fall 2026 Soccer Season:
We align age groups according to the USA Soccer Birth Year and Season Matrix which has just shifted to school-year matrixing. The operative question is: how old is your child on July 31, 2026? If the child is under the age in name of the group on that day, then they can play in that group. So if the child is under 8 years old on July 31, 2026, they can play U8, even if they turn 8 the next day.
So, for the 2026-2027 Season (Fall and Spring), this is the age breakdown:
U6 Players born August 1, 2020 – July 31, 2022 (Must be at least 4 years old)
U8 Players born August 1, 2018 – July 31, 2020
U10 Players born August 1, 2016 – July 31, 2018
U12 Players born August 1, 2014 – July 31, 2016
U14 Players born August 1, 2012 – July 31, 2014
U18 Players born August 1, 2008 – July 31, 2012
UPS Soccer participates in the PGSI (Prince George’s Soccer Initiative) League. This league promotes small-sided soccer games that emphasize a pick-up game attitude. This means that the league includes several policies to keep games competitive including adding/removing players to keep the score balanced, equal play for all players, and a focus on playing soccer over winning. We are a 100% volunteer run soccer program, so please consider volunteering to coach! Coaches are not required to have any prior soccer experience, but we encourage those with the most experience to coach the older players.
Registration is currently $75 and includes a team shirt, insurance, coach background checks, equipment maintenance, and registration for our league. The registration price is subject to change depending on insurance and t-shirt prices.
